SBCAT Celebrates GCSE Success Across the Trust

Students across St Benedict Catholic Academy Trust are celebrating an exceptional GCSE Results Day, with record-breaking results, significant academic progress and outstanding individual achievements across our academies.

Year 11 students across SBCAT are celebrating the culmination of years of hard work, determination and resilience. This year has seen record-breaking results at both St Matthew Academy and St Michael’s Catholic College, alongside fantastic outcomes at Bonus Pastor Catholic College and significant academic progress at St Paul’s Academy.

Record Breaking Results at St Matthew Academy

St Matthew Academy is celebrating the highest GCSE results in the academy’s history, with 31 pupils achieving seven or more Grades 7–9.

Headline results include:

  • 76% achieving Grade 4+ in both English and Mathematics
  • 54% achieving Grade 5+ in both English and Mathematics
  • 22% achieving Grade 7+ in both English and Mathematics

Mr Potter, Headteacher at St Matthew Academy, said:

These record-breaking outcomes are a powerful reflection of the extraordinary hard work, resilience and ambition shown by our Year 11 pupils. Best Ever GCSE Results at St Michael’s Catholic College

St Michael’s Catholic College is also celebrating the best GCSE results in the school’s history, following its record-breaking Sixth Form results last week.

Headline results include:

  • 93% achieving Grade 4+ in English
  • 90% achieving Grade 4+ in Mathematics
  • 77% achieving at least one Grade 7, 8 or 9

Among the outstanding individual achievements, Yousef C and Miya C each secured an exceptional 13 Grade 9s, making them the school’s joint top performers.

“To follow last week’s historic Sixth Form performance with the best GCSE results in St Michael’s history is an extraordinary moment for our entire school community and we are immensely proud of every single Year 11 student. Every outcome today represents hard work that is worthy of huge celebration.”

Fantastic GCSE Results at Bonus Pastor Catholic College

Bonus Pastor Catholic College is celebrating another fantastic set of GCSE results, continuing the school’s strong tradition of academic achievement.

Headline results include:

  • 81% achieving Grade 4+ in English
  • 75% achieving Grade 4+ in Mathematics
  • 50% achieving at least one Grade 7, 8 or 9

The college also celebrated fantastic results across a wide range of subjects, including Religious Education, Science, Drama, Geography and Music.

Among the outstanding individual performances, Conan achieved a remarkable 11 Grade 9s, an exceptional achievement and testament to his hard work and dedication.

“I am incredibly proud of our students for their fantastic GCSE results this year. These outcomes reflect their hard work and commitment, and they open the door to exciting new opportunities for their next steps.

Strong Results and Rising Academic Progress at St Paul’s Academy

St Paul’s Academy is celebrating a strong set of GCSE results, with significant improvements in English and Mathematics alongside outstanding individual achievements across the Class of 2026.

Headline results include:

  • 56% achieving Grade 4+ in both English and Mathematics, an increase of 7 percentage points
  • 36% achieving Grade 5+ in both English and Mathematics, an increase of 10 percentage points

Among the many individual successes, Fortune achieved an exceptional nine Grade 9s, alongside a Grade 7 in Spanish. Fortune will continue his education at Eton College on a full scholarship from September.

Tolulope also achieved an outstanding set of results, securing six Grade 9s, three Grade 8s and a Grade 7.

“We are immensely proud of our Year 11 cohort. These results reflect the relentless hard work, dedication and resilience of our students, supported by our talented staff and supportive families.

“Seeing such significant improvements in our strong pass rates in English and Maths, alongside such inspiring individual achievements, demonstrates that our focus on academic rigour and personal ambition is bearing fruit. We wish all our students the very best as they take their next steps into post-16 education and training.”
