St Matthew Academy

St Matthew Academy is a mixed all-through Catholic school for pupils aged 4-16, located in the London Borough of Lewisham. We have the highest aspirations for all our children to ensure they are academically and socially prepared for the ever-changing world we live in.

We strive to uphold the values and ethos of the Catholic Church but we are also an inclusive school and welcome families of all faiths as well as families who do not adhere to a religious faith. Our motto; ‘Let Your Light Shine’ is taken from St Matthew’s Gospel and captures our belief in the unique quality and ability of every individual.

We offer our pupils a first-class education based on high quality teaching and experiences outside of the classroom, with pupils making excellent progress in both our primary and secondary phases. We believe every child has the potential to succeed and that there should be no barriers to fulfilling academic and personal potential. We expect every St Matthew Academy pupil to graduate from the Academy with the qualifications, skills and confidence to achieve their ambitions in life.
