Mr. Smart Scores Big with Engaging GCSE Maths Day!
St Benedicts Catholic Academy Trust students in Years 10 and 11 experienced a unique and inspiring approach to GCSE Maths revision on Saturday, May 17th. Mr. Smart from the Trust teamed up with YouTube sensation Robbie Lyle from AFTV and the dynamic Expressions from DRSports to deliver a calculator paper focused Maths Day that was as engaging as it was educational.
The event, held at the vibrant Boxpark in Croydon, offered students a refreshing change of scenery as they honed their skills in preparation for their upcoming exams. Mr. Smart cleverly combined the captivating worlds of YouTube influencing, statistical analysis, and lively football banter to create an atmosphere that truly resonated with the students. This innovative approach served as a powerful hook, keeping students motivated and focused as they tackled practice maths questions.
The day centered around building confidence and reinforcing key skills needed for the calculator paper. By embedding maths practice within a context that many students find exciting and relatable, Mr. Smart successfully broke down potential barriers and fostered a positive learning environment.
The St Benedicts Catholic Academy Trust extends a sincere thank you to Robbie Lyle, Expressions from DRSports, and the management at Boxpark for their invaluable support in making this exceptional and impactful Maths Day a reality for our students. Their collaboration has undoubtedly provided a significant boost to our Year 10 and Year 11 students as they approach their GCSE Maths exams.
