Proposed Changes
Published Admissions Number (PAN)
St Benedict Catholic Academy Trust proposes a reduction to the Published Admission Number (PAN) for entry into Year 7 at St Paul’s Academy.
- The current PAN for Year 7 is 210 (equivalent to 7 Forms of Entry).
- The proposed PAN for Year 7 is 180 (equivalent to 6 Forms of Entry).
This reduction of 30 places per year group is necessary to address changing demographic patterns across the Royal Borough of Greenwich and to ensure the long-term financial sustainability and high quality of education delivered by the school.
The decision to propose a PAN reduction is based on robust data regarding local pupil place planning forecasts.
Distribution of Places
The current admissions arrangements account for the following distribution of places:
- Up to 140 places for Catholic and other Faith Entrants
- Up to 70 places for Community Entrants
The proposed distribution of places under the new PAN is:
- Up to 120 places for Catholic and other Faith Entrants
- Up to 60 places for Community Entrants
This retains the current proportion of distribution of places with two thirds for Catholic and other Faith Entrants and one third for Community Entrants.
Additional Children
The number of additional children admitted in instances where children are twins and children from multiple births will change from the 210th to the 180th child admitted, in line with the new PAN.
